簡単な祈り

主よ、わたしをあなたの平和の道具として
お使いください。
憎しみのあるところに　愛の
いさかいのあるところに　ゆるしの
疑惑のあるところに　信仰の
絶望のあるところに　希望の
闇に　光の
悲しみのあるところに　よろこびの
種を蒔かせてください。
おお　偉大なる主よ
慰められることよりは　慰めることを
理解されるよりは　理解することを
愛されるよりは　愛することを
わたしが求めますように。
わたしたちは与えることの中で受け
ゆるしの中でゆるされ
死の中でこそ　永遠の命に生まれるのですから。

Lord,make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred. . . . let me sow love.
Where there is injury. . . . pardon.
Where there is discord. . . . unity.
Where there is doubt. . . . faith.
Where there is error. . . . truth.
Where there is despair. . . . hope.
Where there is sadness. . . . joy.
Where there is darkness. . . . light.
O Divine Master.grant that I may not so much seek.
To be consoled. . . . as to console.
To be understood. . . . as to understand.
To be loved. . . . as to love.
For
It is in giving. . . . that we receive.
It is in pardoning. . . . that we are pardoned.
It is in dying. . . . that we are born to eternal life.
